Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 4257 p4p, 4704 weight class) and Ben Soap (ranked 450 p4p, 477 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Soap's choice of entrance music: Drag Me To Hell. Nate Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Soap is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Diaz's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Diaz lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A left hand lands to the body for Diaz.
Soap looks winded!
A bit of stalling here from Diaz.

Soap is trying to pull guard but Diaz turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Diaz lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Soap or not.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soap throws a knee to the head but misses.
Soap told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Soap jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Diaz walks away with a smile on his face. Soap gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Soap closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Soap lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz is looking to cinch up a triangle. Soap throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Diaz's body to avoid the submission. Diaz has instead reached around Soap's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Diaz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Nate Diaz!
Nate Diaz is the new lightweight champion!
In defeat, Ben Soap stepped up to the mic, saying 'I came to fight and he delivered, respect to Nate Diaz, he was the better man tonight'.
