Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidts throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Poirier on the side of the head.
Poirier rushes Schmidts and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Poirier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Schmidts pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Poirier looks to clinch
letting Schmidts counter with a right hand.
Schmidts scores with a sloppy right hand. Poirier should have avoided that one.
Poirier walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Poirier is rocked!
Schmidts fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Poirier to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Poirier looks to clinch but Schmidts throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Poirier taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
