Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Fast (ranked 3597 p4p, 3116 weight class) and Jim Brown (ranked 385 p4p, 342 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tom Fast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Brown!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown just misses with a punch to the body.
Jab, jab by Brown - just one landing.
Fast uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Brown.
Fast tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brown paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fast misses with a head kick.

Fast closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Fast is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Brown can't fight it off and eventually Fast manages to take the fight to the floor. Brown looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fast stays in close to Brown's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown wants to stand but Fast is controlling the position.

Fast decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Fast lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brown circles away quickly and effectively.
Brown looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Fast throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Brown's head.

Fast has taken the fight to the clinch.
Brown blocks an uppercut.

Fast pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brown looks to throw the jab but Fast is out of range.

Fast plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Fast shoots in but no luck this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fast moves into the clinch successfully.
Fast is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Brown pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Fast breaks the clinch.
Jim Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice cross by Brown.

Fast rushes Brown and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fast lands a right hand that snaps the head of Brown backwards.

Fast escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Come on Fast - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Fast fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brown.

Fast changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brown fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Fast throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.

Fast moves into the clinch.
Fast's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Fast tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brown just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Fast rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brown moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Brown gets tackled into the cage by Fast. Fast maintains the clinch.
Fast has Brown pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brown manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Brown decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Fast's corner calls for a 1-2. Fast obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nice body kick there by Fast.
Brown keeps the fight on the outside.
A little jabbing left from Brown on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fast fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Brown tries to sprawl but Fast drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fast takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Fast's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Brown is trying to stand.
Fast is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brown can do to turn this around?

Fast moves nicely into side control.

Fast working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jim Brown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Brown takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fast prevents Brown from escaping the position.

Brown bucks up and tries to throw Fast off but instead Fast has got his back!

Fast is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Brown knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Brown for a finish.

Brown is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Fast gets his way!

After the fight, Tom Fast was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
