PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Muggy Mugshot (ranked 3366 p4p, 4097 weight class) and Edmund Maloney (ranked 366 p4p, 422 weight class). Maloney comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Sacred War by Alexandrov Red Army Choir kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mugshot smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Maloney has taken the fight to the clinch.

Maloney pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mugshot rushes Maloney and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Maloney on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Maloney tries for a takedown but Mugshot sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Mugshot closes the distance and pushes Maloney back into the cage.

Mugshot manages to break the clinch.

and Mugshot counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Maloney lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

It looks like Muggy Mugshot has been cut.
Mugshot looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Maloney gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Maloney gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Maloney is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mugshot doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maloney.

Maloney is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mugshot is just riding it out for now. Maloney eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mugshot slips a straight right by Maloney.

Maloney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Maloney tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Muggy Mugshot is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mugshot enables Maloney to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mugshot manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Maloney wants to pass the guard but Mugshot is keeping the position.

Maloney gets to his feet - Mugshot follows without any prompting.

Mugshot throws a lazy right hand but Maloney sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Mugshot cracks Maloney with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Mugshot has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Maloney to stand back up!

Maloney is rocked!
Maloney tries to get into range but Mugshot steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Maloney! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Mugshot scores the big KO victory!
