Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Hooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aleksi Heimo!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heimo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Heimo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hooks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hooks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Heimo as he jumps to the side.
Hooks throws a hook but Heimo avoids it easily.
Heimo ducks under a wild hook from Hooks.
Heimo looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A left lands for Heimo.
It looks like Joe Hooks has been cut.
Hooks swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Heimo missing with a left hand there. Hooks was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Heimo throws a jab but it's blocked by Hooks.
Hooks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Heimo connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hooks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Heimo.
Hooks throws a big shot that misses.
Hooks has Heimo up against the cage in a clinch.
Hooks pulls Heimo into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hooks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Heimo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Heimo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heimo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hooks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Heimo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Heimo wants to free his trapped foot but Hooks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Heimo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hooks has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hooks looking for submissions off his back.
Heimo trying to control the action but Hooks is working from the bottom.
Hooks has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Heimo is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Heimo passes the guard and advances to mount!
Heimo is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Hooks is in real trouble.
Heimo is looking for the choke from the back position but Hooks is controlling his hands well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hooks is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with Heimo on his back. Heimo looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Hooks has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
