PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Shaft (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chan Chun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaft has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Shaft!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chan Chun!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chun moves into the clinch.
Shaft is breathing heavily.
Shaft wants to break the clinch but can't.
Chun has a couple of punches blocked by Shaft.

Shaft changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Chun fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Chun had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shaft is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Chun Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shaft's back instead.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chun shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shaft's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Chun has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
