Slinger's entrance music is Hail Mary. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Astonomanov looks to land a left hand but Slinger moved out of range nicely.
Astonomanov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Astonomanov wants it to stay on the feet.

Slinger gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Astonomanov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Astonomanov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slinger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Astonomanov has managed to get both his arms back between Slinger's legs - danger averted.
