Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Ballestaros (ranked 3144 p4p, 4673 weight class) and Jamon Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jamon Alvarez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Ballestaros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jamon Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ballestaros defends it nicely.
Ballestaros misses the jab.
Alvarez has his takedown stuffed
and Ballestaros counters with a stiff right hand.
Ballestaros misses with a shot to the body
and Alvarez counters with a left and a right that stings Ballestaros.
Nice defenses there by Alvarez.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ballestaros, as that shot connected.
It looks like Jamon Alvarez has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ballestaros fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ballestaros scores with a jab.
Ballestaros takes a swing at Alvarez's ribcage but misses.
Nice takedown defense from Ballestaros. No joy for Alvarez on that attempt.
George Ballestaros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamon Alvarez.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ballestaros throws a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alvarez shoots in looking for a takedown but Ballestaros manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alvarez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ballestaros uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Alvarez has time to react.
Alvarez closes the distance looking to clinch
and Ballestaros counters with a big left hand that crumples Alvarez! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). George Ballestaros!
