Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy King (ranked 1493 p4p, 1697 weight class) and Randy Lahey (ranked 170 p4p, 192 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Lahey!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

King shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lahey is trying to defend but King finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lahey wants to get back to full guard.
King throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
King with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
King sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lahey defending well though.
King throwing shots but Lahey is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lahey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
King takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
King thows a huge punch but Lahey dodges it nicely.

Lahey tries to get to full guard but King has control of the leg.
Lahey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lahey tries to kick King off but King keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
King throwing shots but Lahey is blocking nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lahey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
King sitting and controlling from the half guard.
King lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Lahey has hold of King's hands but King slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. King lands a nice short elbow.

It looks like Randy Lahey has been cut.
Lahey is concentrating on defense, preventing King from advancing position.
King is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Lahey is rocked!
King scores with a big shot! Lahey's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Lahey! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy King!
