Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroyuki Shimada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Zhanna!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimada darts in looking for a takedown but Zhanna gets double underhooks and turns Shimada into the cage.
Shimada throws an overhand right that lands on Zhanna's shoulder, as Zhanna tries to avoid the shot.
Zhanna looks to score with a jab to the body but Shimada is just out of range.
Shimada fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Zhanna tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shimada wants to clinch.

Zhanna scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zhanna staying calm.

Zhanna decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zhanna throws a head kick but Shimada moves out of range.
Shimada tries to clinch there but Zhanna circles away.

Shimada closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Zhanna's guard.

Zhanna kicks Shimada off and gets to his feet.
Shimada shoots in for a takedown but Zhanna shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Zhanna changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiroyuki Shimada. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shimada is breathing heavily.
Zhanna lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Shimada throws the kick towards the body but Zhanna avoids it.
Zhanna throws a head kick that half lands.

Shimada is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zhanna pushes Shimada away with a front kick.
Oh Shimada is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Zhanna stalks Shimada and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shimada's face. Shimada staggers backwards, shaken.
Zhanna drops Shimada with a straight right hand, right on the button! Zhanna follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
