Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Burns (ranked 689 p4p, 1331 weight class) and North Connolly (ranked 89 p4p, 153 weight class). Burns comes to the cage accompanied by Lovely Jubbly. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, North Connolly!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connolly takes one to the side of the head.
Connolly looks to clinch
and Burns counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like North Connolly has been cut.
Connolly tries to clinch up
and Burns counters with a stiff right hand.
Connolly scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Connolly tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connolly looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Burns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Connolly on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Connolly looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Burns is avoiding damage well.
Connolly tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Burns dodges the ground and pound from Connolly.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Connolly throws an elbow but Burns slips to the side and avoids it well.
Burns tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Connolly working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Burns is doing well to defend. Connolly seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Burns is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). North Connolly!
North Connolly spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
