Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dalton Swas (ranked 23347 p4p, 24195 weight class) and Jimothy Boberts (ranked 132 p4p, 194 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dalton Swas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimothy Boberts!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boberts keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Swas has taken the fight to the clinch.
Boberts is looking to break free of the clinch but Swas has double underhooks.
Boberts tries to circle away but Swas has him pinned against the cage.
Swas tries for a takedown but Boberts manages to get underhooks.

Boberts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Swas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boberts as he jumps to the side.
Swas throws a head kick that misses.

Swas takes the fight into the clinch.
Boberts has had enough of the clinch but Swas keeps him there for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boberts tries to break the clinch but Swas is controlling the position.
Boberts looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Swas tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Boberts avoids it.
Swas prevents Boberts from breaking the clinch.

Swas is trying to trip Boberts. He has hold of a leg but Boberts is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Swas persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Swas unloads with some shots from mount but Boberts bucks and avoids them well.

Boberts avoids a series of strikes thrown by Swas.
Swas looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Swas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Swas controlling from the full mount.

Swas jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Boberts manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Swas tries to score with some ground and pound. Boberts controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Swas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Boberts, who protects the arm well.
Swas controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boberts wants to get back to his feet but Swas drags him back down.
Swas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Swas decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Boberts throws a body shot but no joy.
Swas was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Boberts connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A combination from Boberts does no damage.
Boberts looks winded!

Boberts swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Swas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Jimothy Boberts has been cut.
Boberts looks to land a combination but Swas avoids it well.
Swas misses with a takedown
and Boberts counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dalton Swas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Swas has closed the distance and engaged Boberts in a clinch.

Swas pulls Boberts into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Boberts wants to get up but he can't break Swas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Boberts must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Swas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boberts gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boberts got a little sloppy there for a moment and Swas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boberts has managed to get both his arms back between Swas's legs - danger averted.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Boberts is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Boberts misses with a few strikes there.

Boberts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Swas circles away quickly and effectively.
A little feinted left hand from Swas on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Swas closes the distance and clinches up with Boberts, looking for a takedown. Swas pushes Boberts against the cage but Boberts circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Boberts! But no joy.
Swas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Boberts has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Boberts wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Swas has him pressed against the cage.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Swas in particular looking to stall.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Swas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Boberts is looking to stand back up but Swas counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Boberts.

Swas is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Swas is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Boberts still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Boberts has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Swas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boberts can do to turn this around?

That was a close second round but I would say that Dalton Swas will probably get the nod.

Swas is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Boberts is surviving well by controlling Swas's body position as best he can.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jimothy Boberts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Swas is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Boberts can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Swas with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Dalton Swas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Swas goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Boberts is on top in guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Swas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
