Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Lahey!

Lahey wants to stand but Ridgewood has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Lahey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ridgewood has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lahey has managed to get both his arms back between Ridgewood's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ridgewood misses with a takedown attempt - Lahey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lahey darts in looking for a takedown but Ridgewood gets double underhooks and turns Lahey into the cage.

Lahey sneaks out the side door and pushes Ridgewood away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Lahey is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ridgewood is keeping busy.

Lahey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lahey enables Ridgewood to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lahey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ridgewood gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Lahey fails with a takedown attempt.
Ridgewood connects with a leg kick.
Ridgewood stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ridgewood wants it to stay on the feet.

Ridgewood fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lahey sprawls well initially but Ridgewood persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ridgewood slaps away a takedown attempt from Lahey, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Lahey looks to move away, Ridgewood throws a big counter combo but Lahey just gets out of the way.

Ridgewood fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lahey to the ground. Ridgewood is now in Lahey's guard.

Ridgewood has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lahey regains guard immediately.

Lahey has a hand on Ridgewood's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Ridgewood takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Ridgewood has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Lahey is in a horrible position here. Ridgewood smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Ridgewood tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ridgewood seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lahey for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ridgewood breaks from Lahey's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Ridgewood swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lahey is now in Ridgewood's guard. A big mistake from Ridgewood there, giving up the dominant position!

Lahey closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ridgewood circles away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ridgewood is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Lahey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lahey looking for subs off his back but Ridgewood has passed one foot through into half guard.
Ridgewood is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lahey!

Lahey is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Ridgewood has taken his back.

Lahey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ridgewood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lahey tries to escape but Ridgewood has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Ridgewood just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Ridgewood is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lahey defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Ridgewood has good solid back control here.
