Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Warren (ranked 3471 p4p, 4022 weight class) and Murad Khalimov (ranked 379 p4p, 423 weight class). Murad Khalimov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dexter Warren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Murad Khalimov!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalimov swings widly with a right hand
and Warren counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Warren lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Murad Khalimov has been cut.
Warren keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Warren tries to land a front kick but Khalimov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Khalimov misses with an uppercut. Warren saw that one coming.
Dexter Warren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warren avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Warren tries a head kick but it misses.
A little jabbing left from Khalimov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Khalimov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Khalimov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Warren has managed to free his arm - good work.
Khalimov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like Khalimov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Khalimov is working for a kimura but Warren is defending it quite comfortably.
Warren on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Warren tries to get out of the position.
Khalimov stops Warren from getting back to his feet.
Khalimov moves nicely into side control.
Warren is pushing Khalimov's head away, looking to escape. Khalimov manages to hold on to the position though.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Khalimov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Khalimov moves into full mount!
Khalimov tries to control but Warren wriggling away.
BOOM! Khalimov connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Khalimov trying to control but Warren is having none of it.

Khalimov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Warren has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Warren!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Khalimov is on top in guard.


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Khalimov sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Warren wants to stand up but Khalimov is controlling him.
Warren keeping moving, preventing Khalimov from controlling successfully.
Khalimov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Warren's guard.
Warren knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Khalimov on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Khalimov is pressing down on Warren's thigh, looking to free his foot. Warren is holding on for now.
Khalimov slows the pace down in half guard.
Khalimov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Khalimov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Warren doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Khalimov.
Khalimov controlling the action here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Murad Khalimov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Murad Khalimov's cut.
That's time! Warren's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Khalimov needs to keep his hands up - Warren had a free shot at his head there.
Warren throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Khalimov blocks a head kick by Warren.
Khalimov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
We've been told by Warren's head coaches at Outlier Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Khalimov moves out of range of the leg kick from Warren.
Warren blocks a jab.
It looked like Warren wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Warren tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Khalimov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Warren throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Warren scores with a head kick. Khalimov tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Warren works over Khalimov's head and body with a nice combination.

Warren has Khalimov up against the cage in a clinch.
Warren tries to circle away but Khalimov has him pinned against the cage.
Khalimov struggles to land a body shot inside as Warren controls his hands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khalimov tries to score a body lock takedown but Warren shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Nice elbow from Warren.
Khalimov lands a body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Khalimov goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Khalimov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Khalimov manages to end up in side control.

Khalimov is working to tighten his grip on Warren's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Warren has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Khalimov is really squeezing tight and eventually Warren passes out! Khalimov breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Murad Khalimov!
