Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Ovill (ranked 4630 p4p, 4497 weight class) and Oliver North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andy Ovill has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy Ovill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oliver North!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.

Ovill tries a head kick but it misses.

North decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

North is working for a kimura but Ovill is defending it quite comfortably.

North is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ovill is just riding it out for now. North eventually gives up the hold.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
North is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Ovill reverses the position - he's now on top in North's guard.

Ovill wants to control from the top but North keeps moving.

North has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ovill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

North is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

A lull in the action here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if North can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ovill's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

North controls the position for a moment.

Ovill wants to control but North is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
North is looking to reverse the position.
North wants to control but Ovill postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No luck for Ovill with that takedown attempt.

and North connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ovill tries to keep at a distance but North has taken the fight into the clinch.

North has Ovill pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. North pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ovill tumbling to the mat - North dives into Ovill's guard.

North stands up and waves to Ovill to follow him.

Ovill wants to lay and pray for a moment but North keeps working.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
North is trying to control Ovill's posture but Ovill avoids it.
North is not content to let Ovill control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Oliver North will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

North throws a front kick aimed at Ovill's knee but Ovill avoids it well.

Ovill tries to sprawl but North drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Ovill pushes North off and gets back to his feet.
North connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Ovill closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ovill lands in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ovill tries to free his leg and advance position but North is retaining full guard.

Ovill postures up in North's guard and throws a big left but North blocks it.
North keeping moving, preventing Ovill from controlling successfully.
Ovill controls from within his opponent's guard.
North wants to sweep here but Ovill controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ovill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says North as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ovill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? North is fending him off so far but Ovill persists. Nope, North circles away and we're back to standing.
Ovill fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
North with the counter takedown but Ovill avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Ovill. That's going to take a lot out of him.

North shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ovill manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
North connects with a couple of short punches.

Ovill has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. North is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

North breaks the clinch.

Ovill wants to control but North is keeping him busy.

North is in trouble now - Ovill has advanced to mount!
Ovill looking to control but North is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ovill takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ovill trying to control but North is having none of it.

Ovill lands a big shot there that rocks North but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ovill thowing shots but they're missing.
Ovill controlling from mount.
Ovill trying to control but he's not successful this time.
North tries to hold on but Ovill postures up.
Ovill controlling from the full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Ovill dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Ovill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

North closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - North lands in his opponent's guard.

Ovill manages to escape and get back to his feet.

North feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ovill wants to control from the top but North keeps moving.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Ovill here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Ovill looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ovill wants to control from the top but North keeps moving.
North not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

North has Ovill up against the cage in a clinch.

Ovill pulls guard effortlessly.
Ovill has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
North throws a big elbow that misses.

Ovill is trying to control the position but North postures up.
North looking to pass the guard.
Ovill is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ovill is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ovill is keen to just control but North is a slippery customer.
North is trying to get back to full guard.

Ovill prevents North from improving his position.
North is not content to let Ovill control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
