Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor McGregor (ranked 5414 p4p, 5450 weight class) and Jason Sierra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor's entrance music is Notorious. A fine choice. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Sierra tries to close the distance and clinch but McGregor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sierra tries to bum rush McGregor with a series of wild strikes but McGregor uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sierra cracks McGregor with a good jab.

McGregor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sierra is looking to stand up but McGregor isn't so interested in that idea.
Sierra is trying to control the position but McGregor postures up.
McGregor has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
McGregor wants to control from the top but Sierra keeps moving.
McGregor cracks Sierra with a solid left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGregor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
McGregor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sierra swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sierra avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGregor gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sierra misses with a jab, cross combination.

McGregor scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sierra is looking to control McGregor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sierra avoid being mounted?
Sierra is trying to stand back up but McGregor is controlling him
McGregor is taking a breather. Sierra says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

McGregor has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sierra defend it? McGregor steps over the head and cranks it - Sierra is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McGregor!
