Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodriguo Silva (ranked 2971 p4p, 4517 weight class) and Kevin Mcnugget (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mcnugget, who protects the arm well.
Mcnugget is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Mcnugget.

That was a close round but I would say that Rodriguo Silva will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcnugget kicks Silva off and gets back to his feet.
Mcnugget dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Mcnugget's head and hops out.

Mcnugget keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Mcnugget.

Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mcnugget changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Mcnugget manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva throws a big counter combination but Mcnugget scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mcnugget is staying active underneath Silva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Silva is working for a kimura but Mcnugget is defending it quite comfortably.
Mcnugget wants to get back to full guard.
Mcnugget is controlling Silva's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Silva is looking to take a break and control but Mcnugget is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mcnugget sees it coming and defends easily.

Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mcnugget is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcnugget keeps working.
Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcnugget's head.

Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rodriguo Silva will probably get the nod.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mcnugget shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Silva napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Silva lands a nice short elbow.

Silva lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
