Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between San Diego Maradona (ranked 5305 p4p, 5263 weight class) and Roberto Congo (ranked 77 p4p, 76 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Congo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Maradona is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Congo tries to move into range but Maradona moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Maradona has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

It looks like Roberto Congo has been cut.
Maradona has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Congo finds it's way round the side to connect with Maradona's head.
Maradona uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Congo has time to react.

Congo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maradona.

Congo scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Maradona beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
Maradona is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Maradona thuds his right hand into Congo's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Congo counters with a beautiful hook that drops Maradona to the mat! Will Maradona be able to recover his senses? The referee starts the count at 3 having sent Congo to a neutral corner. 4,5,6 and Maradona is up. He looks OK to continue.

Roberto Congo tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
