Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pepper Mint (ranked 4162 p4p, 6136 weight class) and Sandor Akos (ranked 526 p4p, 0 weight class). Pepper Mint could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sandor Akos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

Akos moves into range and clinches up with Mint.
Mint swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Nice body punch from Mint.
Mint tries to throw a body punch but Akos avoids it by throwing Mint back against the cage.
Mint tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Akos's elbow.

Akos has clasped his hands together around Mint's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Akos tries to move to full mount but Mint actually manages to regain half guard.
Akos passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mint!

Akos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mint. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Let's hope that Akos has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mint is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Akos is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Mint is bucking up trying to escape but Akos cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Akos slips under a jab.
Akos shoots in looking for a takedown. Mint tries to sprawl out of it but Akos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mint manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mint gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Akos to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Akos not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Akos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mint.
Mint swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Akos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mint avoids it really well and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Akos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mint looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Mint is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Akos gets his way!

That's time! Mint's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Akos takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

And Akos tries to counter it with a takedown but Mint pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Akos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Akos is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mint reverses the position - he's now on top in Akos's guard.

Mint got a little sloppy there for a moment and Akos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mint has managed to get both his arms back between Akos's legs - danger averted.
