Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phoenix Dawn (ranked 2999 p4p, 5351 weight class) and Grogernogon Crimbat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phoenix Dawn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grogernogon Crimbat!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

Dawn shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Crimbat manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dawn with a flurry of punches that miss.
Dawn postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Dawn has gone for a leg lock! Crimbat slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dawn's guard.

Dawn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Crimbat really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dawn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dawn is trying to work for a kimura but Crimbat is defending well.

Dawn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Crimbat with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dawn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dawn connects with a nice short shot to Crimbat's temple.

Crimbat tries to roll but Dawn sticks to his back.
Crimbat seems to have recovered his senses.

Dawn sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Crimbat taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Phoenix Dawn!
