Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Santos (ranked 4715 p4p, 3119 weight class) and Jean Jacque Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 392 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Belfort drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Belfort wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santos keeps working.
Santos is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santos wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Belfort wants to get up but he can't break Santos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Santos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Belfort.
Santos throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Belfort tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Santos is in Belfort's guard.
Belfort looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Santos has picked Belfort up and slammed him! Belfort can't keep hold of the triangle and Santos manages to pass to side control!

Santos is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Belfort will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Santos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Santos works to advance to full mount. Belfort defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Santos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Belfort tries to hold on but Santos postures up.
Santos controlling the pace for now.
Santos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Santos is riding his opponent, not letting Belfort buck him off.
Belfort is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Santos off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Santos lands punches and elbows.
