Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Franz Ritter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ritter's entrance music is All Along The Watchtower. A fine choice. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Franz Ritter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Paulson!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Paulson trying to stall but Ritter improves his position.
Paulson prevents Ritter from breaking the clinch.
Ritter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ritter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ritter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Paulson doesn't seem bothered though.
Ritter misses with a looping left.
Ritter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Paulson.
Ritter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Paulson was well out of range. Poor timing from Ritter.
Paulson tries to clinch up but Ritter circles away and keeps his distance.
Ritter throws a looping overhand right but Paulson ducks down to avoid it.
Paulson shoots for a double leg takedown but Ritter sprawls well. He's pushed Paulson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Paulson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ritter.
Ritter misses with a double jab.
Ritter waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Paulson.
Ritter dodges the punch combination from Paulson.
Ritter tries to keep at a distance but Paulson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Paulson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Paulson trying to control the position but instead, Ritter has worked for underhooks and has pushed Paulson into the cage.
Paulson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ritter lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Paulson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ritter's efforts to push away.
A frustrated look appears on Ritter's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ritter takes a knee to the side of the body.
Paulson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ritter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Paulson has him pressed against the cage.
Paulson stalling in the clinch but Ritter improves position.

Paulson tries to land a knee to the head but Ritter blocks with his arms.
Ritter looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

A bit of stalling here from Ritter.
Paulson has Ritter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ritter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Paulson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ritter fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ritter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Paulson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ritter avoids the head kick by Paulson.
Paulson clinches up with Ritter and pushes him back against the cage.
Ritter is trying to break free.

Paulson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Ritter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Paulson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Paulson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ritter just misses with a punch to the body.
Ritter misses with a wild body shot.
Paulson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Ritter throws the left hand but Paulson avoids the punch easily.
Some wild striking there from Ritter.
Ritter missing with a left hand there. Paulson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ritter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Paulson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ritter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A slow jab from Ritter misses its intended target.
Ritter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Paulson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ritter thinking.
Paulson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Paulson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ritter throws out the jab.
Paulson throws a nice head kick!
Paulson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ritter avoids it really well and circles away.
Franz Ritter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ritter swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Paulson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Ritter punishes Paulson's body with a nice straight punch.
Ritter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ritter throws a big shot that misses.
Ritter scores with a hook to the body. Paulson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ritter lands a nice shot that snaps Paulson's head back.
Ritter lunges at Paulson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Paulson's hand.
Paulson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Paulson is rocked!
Ritter closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Paulson out cold! Paulson corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Franz Ritter!
