Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soons Sam (ranked 4265 p4p, 23765 weight class) and Adonis Banks (ranked 522 p4p, 718 weight class). Soons Sam had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Sam looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Banks is fending him off so far but Sam persists. Nope, Banks circles away and we're back to standing.
Banks looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Sam has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Advanced Fitness Inc. in the buildup to the fight.
Sam shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Banks defends it nicely.
Banks bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sam's head backwards.

It looks like Soons Sam has been cut.
Banks works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Banks misses with an uppercut

and Sam counters with a nice double leg into side control. Banks won't be happy with that.
Banks pushes Sam away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sam gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Sam tries for a kimura but Banks is defending well.
Sam tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Sam stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sam wants to clinch.
Sam tries to close the distance and clinch but Banks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Banks steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sam.
Nice sprawl there from Banks as Sam shoots in.
Banks tries to counter with a clinch but Sam shakes him off and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Soons Sam. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Banks counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Banks looks to land a combination but Sam avoids it well.

Banks throws a big shot that misses.
Sam moves away from the strike by Banks.

Banks feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sam sprawling to the canvas! Sam rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Banks finish him?!

Sam is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Banks closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Sam! Banks dives in looking to finish! Sam is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
