Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between My Fighter (ranked 24582 p4p, 5697 weight class) and Reggie Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for My Fighter has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, My Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fighter gets caught napping as Lewis dives in and scores a takedown. Fighter manages to retain guard.
Lewis controlling from the top position.

Lewis gets to his feet. Fighter looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Fighter shoots in but no luck this time.

Fighter gets tackled into the cage by Lewis. Lewis maintains the clinch.

Lewis wants the takedown. Fighter is fighting it off but Lewis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fighter's guard against the cage.
Lewis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fighter is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Fighter manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lewis manages to break the clinch.
Fighter shoots in for a double leg but Lewis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lewis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

You can see the frustration on Fighter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Fighter wants to control but Lewis postures up.

Lewis decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Lewis pushes Fighter up against the cage in a clinch.

Lewis gets control of Fighter's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lewis will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fighter is looking to stand up but Lewis won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fighter trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom.
Lewis pulls Fighter in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lewis is on top in guard.

Lewis postures up in Fighter's guard and throws a big left but Fighter blocks it.

Fighter is pulling down on Lewis's head. It's preventing any offense from Lewis, at least for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lewis throwing strikes but missing.
Lewis stops Fighter from standing up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lewis advances position into side control!

Lewis decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Fighter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lewis has managed to clinch.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fighter tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Fighter is trying to push Lewis away but Lewis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Lewis breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter has a takedown stuffed.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Lewis has managed to clinch.

Lewis has Fighter pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Fighter's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Lewis pulls guard successfully.
Fighter won't allow Lewis to sweep him here.
Lewis is breathing heavily.

Fighter gets to his feet - Lewis follows without any prompting.

Lewis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fighter wants to get back to his feet but Lewis drags him back down.

Lewis decides to stand back up. Lewis steps back and let's Fighter get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fighter or perhaps it was just good defense by Lewis, which made it look bad.

Lewis looking to score a takedown here. Fighter is defending well but Lewis drives through and ends up in Fighter's guard.
Fighter keeping moving, preventing Lewis from controlling successfully.
Lewis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lewis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fighter is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lewis presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Lewis lands a shot to the body.
Fighter misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Lewis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fighter's efforts to push away.
Lewis has Fighter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fighter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fighter is trying to break the clinch but Lewis has him pressed against the cage.

Fighter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lewis.
Fighter wants to break free but Lewis has control.
Lewis keeps control of Fighter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lewis successfully pulls guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lewis looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fighter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reggie Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Fighter fails to land the takedown.
Lewis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fighter is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Reggie Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fighter goes for a double leg but Lewis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lewis continues to drive forward.
Lewis is looking for the big counter here.
Fighter slips a jab and a cross from Lewis.
Lewis wants to clinch.
Fighter appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lewis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fighter is trying to break the clinch but Lewis has him pressed against the cage.
Fighter blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Lewis works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Lewis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Fighter after a bit of a struggle.

Lewis pulls guard successfully.

Fighter decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Reggie Lewis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for My Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lewis.
Fighter is trying to control Lewis's posture but Lewis avoids it.
Fighter is trying to buck Lewis off.

Fighter is trying to get back to his feet.
Lewis tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fighter is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lewis is controlling him well.
My Fighter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lewis is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fighter will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Fighter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lewis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lewis stands up.
Reggie Lewis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Lewis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fighter's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Lewis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
