Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheamus Meallan (ranked 4488 p4p, 4154 weight class) and Tua Taamu (ranked 496 p4p, 468 weight class). Tua Taamu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tua Taamu!

Taamu tries to work over Meallan's front leg with a kick but Meallan checks it.
Taamu lands with a cross.
The fighters circle momentarily. Taamu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

letting Meallan counter with a right hand.

It looks like Tua Taamu has been cut.
Meallan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Taamu walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Meallan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

That kick from Taamu tenderised Meallan's leg. Meallan is trying to keep his angry face on.
Taamu moves forwards but Meallan connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Taamu throws a fast counter high kick but Meallan manages to duck under it in time.
Taamu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Meallan.
Taamu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Taamu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Taamu fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Meallan, pushing him back against the cage.

Meallan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A nice inside leg kick there by Taamu. That's going to slow Meallan down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Taamu tries to clinch up but Meallan circles away and keeps his distance.

Meallan is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Meallan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Taamu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Meallan on the side of the head.
Good work by Meallan as he checks the leg kick.
Taamu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Meallan is out of range and Taamu settles back down.
Taamu tries to land a front kick but Meallan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A nice leg kick lands there from Taamu.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tua Taamu will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Taamu moves into range and clinches up with Meallan.

Meallan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Taamu feints and then cracks Meallan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Meallan down.
Taamu looks for the body kick but Meallan saw that one coming.

Meallan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Taamu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Meallan counters with a crisp right hand that drops Taamu! Meallan lets Taamu back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Taamu is still on wobbly legs! Can Meallan finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Taamu throws out a loose jab but Meallan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Taamu seems to have recovered his senses.
Taamu's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Meallan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Taamu scrambles back to his feet.

and Meallan counters with a big left hand that crumples Taamu! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

A relieved looking Sheamus Meallan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
