A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Cruz.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cruz swivels and escapes.

Cruz tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Jones swings around for an armbar but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jones's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Greg Cruz will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Cruz wants to break free but Jones has control.

Jones gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Cruz regains guard.
