The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bichard throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Nathan Barden has been cut.
Kai Bichard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bichard shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barden but Barden pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Barden throws a right hand that Bichard ducks under and follows up with a left that Bichard also avoids with ease.
Bichard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barden as he avoids it easily.
Barden stuffs the takedown attempt from Bichard. Bichard gets slowly back to his feet.

Bichard jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Barden is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Barden and Bichard has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barden wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Bichard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Barden has escaped the position, nice work there.

Bichard wants to control for a moment but Barden uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Barden is just content to waste time from the top position. Bichard takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Bichard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bichard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barden can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bichard is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Barden rolls with it to try and escape but Bichard cranks on the arm and Barden is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
