The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Tupp closes the distance and clinches.

It looks like Tupp might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Shogun definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Shogun is looking to regain half guard here but Tupp keeps moving and retains side control.

Shogun on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shogun tries to get out of the position.

My spies in Power Plant MMA inform me that Tupp has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Shogun is controlling an arm, preventing Tupp from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tupp is continuing to stall.
Shogun tries to control Tupp's body but Tupp pushes him off. Shogun squirms to his side and now Tupp has his back!

I really don't envy Shogun right now.

Shogun is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Tupp just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Tupp's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Tupp has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Tupp controlling the position well here. Shogun rolled but Tupp kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Tupp.

Tupp is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Tupp is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Tupp is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Shogun defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Tupp has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Shogun! Can he survive? No! He's out! Tupp gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
