Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Smith (ranked 1214 p4p, 1747 weight class) and Ricky Rawse (ranked 61 p4p, 89 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Lonely Train by Black Stone Cherry. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rawse!

Smith has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Rawse throws a hook but Smith avoids it easily.
Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Smith is trying to drag Rawse to the mat but Rawse just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Rawse swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Smith is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rawse fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rawse.

Rawse manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

Rawse wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.

Rawse bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.


Rawse is sitting in close to Smith's body. Smith has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rawse is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rawse is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Smith.

Our winner, Aaron Smith, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
