Simone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lezginka - Kavkaz. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

Simone takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Wanderlei Shogun has been cut.

Shogun is trying to force a seperation but Simone has the dominant position.

Shogun wants to get back to striking at distance but Simone won't allow it.
Simone lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Shogun backwards.
Simone drops Shogun onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Shogun is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Shogun is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shogun goes for a takedown in the clinch but Simone prevents it.
Oh Shogun is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Simone lands with a light punch inside.
Shogun tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Simone just stands there and leans against the cage.
Simone lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Shogun wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Simone dips a shoulder and cracks Shogun with a mighty uppercut! Shogun falls back against the cage and Simone unloads with a barrage of strikes! Shogun is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Simone screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Redface Simone!
