PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roko Delac (ranked 4763 p4p, 4761 weight class) and Ante Vukman (ranked 86 p4p, 87 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roko Delac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ante Vukman!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.

Vukman darts in and clinches Delac up against the cage.

Vukman manages to pull guard.

Vukman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Delac manages to get himself to full guard.

Delac has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vukman wants to pass the guard but Delac is keeping the position.

Delac tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Delac controls Vukman momentarily but Vukman frees himself.
Vukman tries to free his leg and advance position but Delac is retaining full guard.
Vukman looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Vukman stands and throws Delac's legs to the side, diving into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vukman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Delac manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Vukman fails with a takedown attempt.

Vukman clinches up with Delac and pushes him back against the cage.

Delac manages to break the clinch.

Vukman clinches with his opponent.

Vukman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Delac drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vukman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Delac is looking to stand up but Vukman won't let him.

Delac throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vukman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Vukman looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Delac passes into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Vukman is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Delac perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ante Vukman will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Delac stuffs the takedown.
Vukman tries to clinch but Delac moves out of range.
Vukman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Delac moves away.
Vukman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Delac.
Vukman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Delac cracks Vukman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Delac clinches.

Vukman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Roko Delac is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Delac tries to clinch there but Vukman circles away.
Vukman avoids a kick to the body.
Delac looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vukman is fending him off so far but Delac persists. Nope, Vukman circles away and we're back to standing.
Vukman throws a nice looking combination but Delac bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Delac gets a takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Delac is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vukman defends it well.
Vukman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Delac wants to control from the top but Vukman keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vukman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Delac is controlling him.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Vukman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Delac controls the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Delac moves in looking to clinch but Vukman pushes him off.
Delac stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Delac wants it to stay on the feet.
Delac changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Vukman scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Delac is trying to escape back to his feet but Vukman uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Delac is not content to let Vukman control the position.

Vukman has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Delac is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vukman yanks on the arm and Delac is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vukman.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ante Vukman!
