Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barthelemy Makanaki (ranked 5190 p4p, 5591 weight class) and Romero Duno (ranked 558 p4p, 583 weight class). Romero Duno is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Barthelemy Makanaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Romero Duno!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duno connects with a body shot that sends Makanaki's belly button to the back.
Duno throws a sloppy head kick and Makanaki moves out of range easily.
Duno pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Makanaki back to the cage. Duno follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Makanaki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Duno avoids it really well and circles away.
Makanaki throws a series of punches but Duno avoids them all with ease.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Duno.
Makanaki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Makanaki takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Duno moves into the clinch successfully.

Duno breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Duno lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duno throws a sloppy head kick and Makanaki moves out of range easily.
Duno tries a head kick but it misses.
Makanaki appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Duno fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Makanaki, pushing him back against the cage.
Makanaki blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Makanaki manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Duno breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Duno stuns Makanaki with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Duno throws a head kick that misses.

Duno moves into range and clinches up with Makanaki.
Makanaki is working for takedown but Duno is calmly controlling the position for now.

Makanaki tightens his grip and picks Duno up, before dumping him to the ground. Duno manages to land in guard.
Makanaki is breathing heavily.
Makanaki is standing up over Duno. Duno looks to escape but Makanaki dives into side control.

Makanaki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Duno is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Duno wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
A lull in the action here as Makanaki stalls from top position.
Duno pushes Makanaki away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Makanaki gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Makanaki is looking to take a break and control but Duno is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Duno can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Duno is trying to buck Makanaki off.

Duno wants to get back to his feet but Makanaki is dominant here and he's now got Duno's back!
Makanaki keeps control of the position easily here as Duno tries to buck him off.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Duno is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Makanaki has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Duno's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Romero Duno dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Duno pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Makanaki back to the cage. Duno follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Makanaki shoots in but Duno avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Barthelemy Makanaki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Duno gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Duno pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makanaki is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Duno moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Romero Duno!
