Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil McCavity (ranked 4793 p4p, 5263 weight class) and Mitch Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 555 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Phil McCavity!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mitch Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.





The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from McCavity enables Andrews to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McCavity manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Andrews seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McCavity does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are battling for position here. McCavity manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

McCavity is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Andrews defends well.

Andrews changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McCavity looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Andrews is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McCavity knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Andrews is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McCavity will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

McCavity tries to bench press Andrews off him but Andrews keeps the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
McCavity is looking to regain half guard here but Andrews keeps moving and retains side control.

Andrews has gone for a leg lock! McCavity slips out almost immediately though and dives into Andrews's guard.

Andrews working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McCavity doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McCavity manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McCavity decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Andrews, up you get!
Andrews moves out of range as McCavity throws a body kick.
And Andrews tries to counter it with a takedown but McCavity pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Andrews decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Andrews wants to free his trapped foot but McCavity is holding on for dear life with his legs.
McCavity tries to kick Andrews off but Andrews keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Andrews moves nicely into side control.
McCavity wants to control but Andrews postures up.

McCavity prevents Andrews from moving into mount.
McCavity tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Andrews wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McCavity sneaks out the side door and pushes Andrews away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Andrews is breathing heavily.

McCavity shoots in and drives through. Andrews sprawls well.

Andrews shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Andrews wants to control the pace but McCavity is squirming around nicely.
Andrews tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A close second round but Mitch Andrews will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Andrews drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

McCavity has his feet on Andrews's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Andrews bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McCavity tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Andrews is looking for the choke from the back position but McCavity is controlling his hands well.
Andrews takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Andrews's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
McCavity wants to get back to his feet.
Mitch Andrews is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

McCavity is trying to stand back up.
McCavity trying to control but not successfully.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Andrews controlling the positon.
