And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jan Nycz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.





The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thabeet misses with a low kick.

Nycz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thabeet did well to prevent Nycz getting side control.
Ground and pound from Nycz.
Nycz is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nycz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Nycz is thwarting Thabeet's attempts to control the position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nycz lands a nice short elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nycz is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Thabeet has hold of Nycz's hands but Nycz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Nycz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Nycz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Nycz is nestled in close to Thabeet, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Thabeet is breathing heavily.
Nycz scores with a big shot! Thabeet's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Thabeet! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jan Nycz!
A relieved looking Jan Nycz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
