PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Somsak Ngo (ranked 4600 p4p, 425 weight class) and James Lesnar (ranked 4105 p4p, 393 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar misses with an uppercut.
Somsak Ngo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lesnar throws out a loose jab but Ngo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ngo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A head kick misses from Ngo.
Lesnar steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Ngo.
Lesnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ngo moves away.
Ngo fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ngo fakes the leg kick and cracks Lesnar in the body.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ngo.
Ngo lands with a hook. Lesnar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Lesnar throws out a loose jab but Ngo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ngo explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Ngo feints and then cracks Lesnar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lesnar down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ngo keeps Lesnar at a distance using the push kick.
Lesnar looks winded!
Ngo connects with a solid leg kick.

Ngo lands a head kick that bluckles Lesnar and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Ngo no doubt looking to push for a finish!
Ngo thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lesnar if he has to take too many more of those.
Ngo jabs Lesnar to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ngo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ngo lands a leg kick that knocks Lesnar off balance momentarily.

Good leg kick by Ngo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ngo.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ngo.
A punch combination from Lesnar misses.
Ngo scoring well with a low kick there.
Lesnar takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Ngo thumps Lesnar with a low kick.
Lesnar takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Lesnar takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A slapping leg kick lands for Ngo.
Ngo lands a head kick that sends Lesnar down! Lesnar is flopping around the mat trying to get back up, leaving the referee no choice but to wave off the fight! Ngo is victorious!
