Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Craig Kraig (ranked 4347 p4p, 465 weight class) and Jimmie Ryan (ranked 2769 p4p, 332 weight class). Jimmie Ryan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Craig Kraig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jimmie Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kraig looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ryan is fending him off so far but Kraig persists. Nope, Ryan circles away and we're back to standing.
Ryan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kraig momentarily.
Ryan throws a solid leg kick but Kraig takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ryan.
Ryan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kraig shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryan as he avoids it easily.
Ryan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Kraig shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Ryan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Kraig is on him like a limpet, forcing Ryan back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kraig breaks the clinch.
We've been informed that Ryan has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Ryan misses with a two punch combination.
Ryan digs a good hook to Kraig's body.
Kraig seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Ryan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Kraig counters with a takedown into side control.

Ryan throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Kraig changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ryan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ryan explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jimmie Ryan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kraig.

Ryan bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Nice uppercut there from Ryan.
Kraig goes for a double leg but Ryan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ryan continues to drive forward.

Kraig misses with a takedown attempt - Ryan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ryan works over Kraig's head and body with a nice combination.
Ryan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ryan dips to his left and cracks Kraig with an uppercut!

Ryan lands a jab to the nose.

Jimmie Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kraig takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kraig swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Ryan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ryan jabs Kraig right on the nose. Kraig blinks but takes it well.
Ryan throws a shot to the body.

Kraig doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ryan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ryan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ryan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kraig.
Kraig tries to counter with a takedown but Ryan is quick to defend against it.
Kraig on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kraig shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryan as he avoids it easily.

Ryan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kraig back to the cage. Ryan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Kraig takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ryan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Kraig goes for a takedown attempt but Ryan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ryan jabs Kraig to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Kraig throws an off balance right hand
and Ryan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ryan is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kraig had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Kraig shoots in and bounces Ryan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kraig wants to pass the guard but Ryan is keeping the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kraig content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmie Ryan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kraig checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Kraig jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Ryan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kraig's head.
Kraig takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ryan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ryan works over Kraig's head and body with a nice combination.
Kraig fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ryan works Kraig's body with a nice hook.
Ryan wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Ryan throws a series of strikes that have Kraig backpedaling.
Ryan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ryan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kraig looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ryan thuds his right hand into Kraig's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ryan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kraig moves away.

Ryan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Kraig is working for takedown but Ryan is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kraig gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ryan regains guard.

Ryan is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Ryan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Ryan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ryan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ryan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kraig manages to avoid it.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kraig looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ryan throws a right hand that Kraig ducks under and follows up with a left that Kraig also avoids with ease.
Ryan lands a really nice looking cross but Kraig seems unphased.

Kraig closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kraig not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Ryan is trying to stand.

Kraig is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ryan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kraig.
Kraig prevents Ryan from improving his position.

Kraig is thwarting Ryan's attempts to control the position.
Kraig knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ryan on the ground.
Kraig is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Kraig is working for a kimura but Ryan is defending it quite comfortably.
Ryan pushes Kraig off looking to stand but Kraig dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmie Ryan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

so Kraig counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Ryan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kraig off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Ryan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ryan lands with a straight right. Kraig didn't see that one coming.
Ryan scores with a nice strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kraig looks to land a right hand but Ryan moved out of range.
Ryan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kraig dives in and grabs Ryan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ryan pushes down on Kraig's head and hops out.
Kraig throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryan's waist but Ryan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kraig off to one side.
Ryan throws a nice looking combination but Kraig bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kraig half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Craig Kraig is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ryan connects with a body shot.
Kraig has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ryan finds it's way round the side to connect with Kraig's head.

Ryan misses with a wild combination.
Kraig tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Ryan manages to circle out of the way.
Ryan falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kraig counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ryan!
Ryan is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kraig's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kraig drops an elbow to the side of Ryan's head.
Kraig thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ryan's head.
Jimmie Ryan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kraig lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ryan wants to control but Kraig is keeping busy.
Jimmie Ryan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ryan is staying active underneath Kraig, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kraig lands strikes from half guard.
Well, if Kraig is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Kraig looks to land a strike but Ryan avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Kraig is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kraig trying to control but Ryan is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kraig tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ryan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kraig somewhat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A cross from Ryan lands.
Ryan thuds his right hand into Kraig's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nice takedown defense from Ryan. No joy for Kraig on that attempt.
Kraig gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ryan.
Craig Kraig has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ryan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Kraig looks to land a right hand but Ryan moved out of range.
Ryan cracks a nice hook into Kraig's ribs.
Ryan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ryan.

Kraig tries to counter by clinching up but Ryan breaks away and moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jimmie Ryan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ryan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
