The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gascoigne smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Asprilla misses with a lunging right hand
and Gascoigne counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Decent striking displayed by Asprilla there.
Asprilla looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Asprilla throws an off balance right hand
and Gascoigne counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gascoigne looks to land a combination but Asprilla avoids it well.
Gascoigne throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Asprilla's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Gascoigne dives in looking to finish as Asprilla flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Gascoigne's strikes! Gascoigne is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Asprilla's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Asprilla was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
