Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Canela Seca (ranked 5345 p4p, 412 weight class) and Felipe Cabrera (ranked 4003 p4p, 0 weight class). Cabrera comes into a darkened arena with his song building. X Gon Give It To Ya kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Canela Seca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Felipe Cabrera!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seca uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Cabrera shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Let's hope that Cabrera has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Seca is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cabrera is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cabrera slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Cabrera drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cabrera slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Seca wants to get back to his feet.
Seca trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Cabrera working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cabrera in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Cabrera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cabrera is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Seca knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Seca wants to get back to his feet but Cabrera drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Seca is trying to buck Cabrera off.

Cabrera is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Seca is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cabrera in side control, throwing shots but Seca defends.
Seca wants to get back to his feet but Cabrera drags him back down.

Cabrera prevents Seca from escaping the position.

Cabrera decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Seca moves into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cabrera has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Seca uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cabrera ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Cabrera has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cabrera lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Cabrera gets to his feet. Seca looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Seca throws a series of punches but Cabrera avoids them all with ease.

Cabrera dodges the punch combination from Seca.
Cabrera tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Seca counters with a stiff right hand.

Cabrera moves into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cabrera is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Seca breaks from the clinch.
Cabrera tries to move into range but Seca moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Canela Seca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Cabrera.

Seca misses with a short punch on the inside.
Cabrera stalls.
Seca misses with a hook from the clinch.
Cabrera tries to pull guard but Seca holds him up against the cage and eventually Cabrera drops back down to his feet.

Cabrera goes for a takedown in the clinch but Seca prevents it.

Seca stands up from Cabrera's guard - Seca perhaps looking for a knockout.
Cabrera shoots and misses
and Cabrera takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cabrera is breathing heavily.
Seca tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cabrera swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cabrera has managed to clinch.
Cabrera blocking some punches.
Cabrera goes for a takedown in the clinch but Seca prevents it.
Cabrera is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Seca pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Cabrera takes a shot to the head.
Seca lands a hook to the side of the head.
Seca has a couple of punches blocked by Cabrera.
Seca gets through Cabrera's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Seca misses with a punch on the inside.

Cabrera has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Seca clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Seca is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Cabrera has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Canela Seca dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Seca tries to clinch there but Cabrera circles away.

Cabrera manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Seca on his heels. He'll look to pass Seca's guard now, I'm sure.
Seca wants to stand up but Cabrera is controlling him.

Cabrera drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Seca dives on top into guard.

Seca loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Seca slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cabrera can't do much from the bottom here.
Cabrera tries to bench press Seca off him but Seca keeps the position.
Cabrera regains half guard there - taking advantage of Seca's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Felipe Cabrera has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cabrera is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Seca's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Seca's back!
Cabrera just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Cabrera.

Cabrera looking for the RNC.

Cabrera looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Seca is controlling Cabrera 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
Cabrera looking for a sweep. Not yet Cabrera, not yet.

Seca throws an elbow that misses. Cabrera uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Seca's guard. Nice move by Cabrera!

Cabrera postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cabrera prevents Seca from getting back to his feet.

Cabrera decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cabrera wants to clinch up but Seca keeps it at a distance.
Seca lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cabrera backs up against the cage.
Cabrera defending well as Seca loads up on a big left hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Felipe Cabrera.
I think Cabrera has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Felipe Cabrera misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Canela Seca stepped up to the mic, saying 'Hard match up. 25 years!'.
