Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Bakole (ranked 7463 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Joshua (ranked 24761 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Bakole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Joshua!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakole tries to clinch up.

Joshua looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bakole looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bakole controls Joshua momentarily but Joshua frees himself.
Joshua throwing strikes from guard but Bakole blocks nicely.
Bakole definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bakole has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Joshua has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Joshua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Joshua turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Joshua's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bakole tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Joshua paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Joshua appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Bakole is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Joshua is defending well.
Bakole can't break the clinch.

Bakole escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Joshua takes the fight into the clinch.
Bakole controlling the action here for a moment.
Bakole is pushing Joshua up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Bakole tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Joshua smiles and moves away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bakole avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Bakole fails in his attempt to clinch.
Joshua changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

A close round but Anthony Joshua will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bakole is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Joshua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bakole shoots for a takedown but Joshua saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bakole is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Bakole takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Joshua wants to control but Bakole is keeping him busy.

Joshua decides to stand back up. Joshua steps back and let's Bakole get back to his feet.

Bakole seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Joshua has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bakole uses from the top position.
Joshua has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Joshua escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bakole gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bakole is pushing down on Joshua's leg trying to pass to half guard. Joshua is fighting to maintain full guard but Bakole has managed to sneak the leg through.

Joshua is not content to let Bakole control the position.
Joshua wants to control but Bakole is keeping busy.
Bakole is keen to just control but Joshua is a slippery customer.

Bakole looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Joshua throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bakole was covering up waiting for the punch and Joshua finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bakole manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Bakole tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Joshua just stands there and leans against the cage.

Joshua has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bakole uses from the top position.

Bakole tries to counter with a takedown but Joshua is quick to defend against it.

Bakole is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Joshua wants to control from the top but Bakole keeps moving.
Bakole manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Joshua manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Joshua is looking to stand up but Bakole isn't so interested in that idea.

Joshua can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bakole controls the pace.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bakole looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Bakole is just content to waste time from the top position. Joshua takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Bakole has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Joshua is proving hard to escape from.

Joshua is working an open guard so Bakole takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Bakole avoids the body shot from Joshua.
Bakole wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Joshua has Bakole up against the cage in a clinch.

Joshua jumps into guard, dragging Bakole to the mat.
Bakole wants to control from the top but Joshua keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank Bakole.
I think Joshua has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
