And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wick keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Blood clinches with his opponent.
Wick tries to pull guard but Blood holds him up against the ropes and eventually Wick drops back down to his feet.

Blood lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Wick manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Blood keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes.
Blood wants a takedown.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Wick.
Wick swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Wick wants to take the fight to the mat but Blood manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Blood tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Blood is trying to trip Wick. He has hold of a leg but Wick is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Blood persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wick is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Blood has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wick tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Blood drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wick dives on top into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Blood bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wick's guard.

Wick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wick is pulling down on Blood's head. It's preventing any offense from Blood, at least for the moment.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tim Blood.
