Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn Williams!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels has closed the distance and engaged Williams in a clinch.
Williams looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Williams wants to get back to striking at distance but Daniels won't allow it.
Daniels presses Williams against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Daniels lands a knee to the body.

Daniels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Daniels lands a nice looking body kick.
Williams tries to clinch up

and Daniels counters with a takedown into side control.

Daniels is trying to get an arm triangle but Williams is defending well.

Daniels lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Daniels moves into the clinch successfully.
Daniels will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Williams up against the cage.
Daniels definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Daniels breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Daniels is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Williams's half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Daniels's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Daniels is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Daniels is staying tight to Williams's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Daniels tries to move to mount but Williams blocks the move with his legs.

Daniels is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Williams knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Daniels is working Williams over with some ground and pound from side control.
Williams tries to escape but Daniels is in control.

Daniels stands up and beckons Williams to his feet.
Shawn Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Anthony Daniels is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Daniels feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Daniels has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
