The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakuza on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mendes lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mendes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Yakuza's calf.
Mendes misses with a head kick.
Yakuza fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mendes throws a quick inside leg kick.
Yakuza fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mendes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Yakuza bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mendes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Mendes throws a lazy right hand but Yakuza sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yakuza dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Yakuza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mendes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mendes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mendes's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Yakuza connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mendes scrambles back to his feet.
Yakuza lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mendes at a distance.
Yakuza scores with a jab to the jaw.
Yakuza fails with an attempt to clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mendes.
Yakuza leaves Mendes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mendes's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Yakuza throws a big uppercut that drops Mendes! More strikes from Yakuza and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Mendes lies dazed against the cage as Yakuza celebrates with his cornermen!
