Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Penko Penev (ranked 4822 p4p, 484 weight class) and Alfredo Sauce (ranked 5514 p4p, 520 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penev drives through and clinches with Sauce against the cage.
Penev is trying to pull guard but Sauce has him pressed against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sauce can do anything to dispel that myth.

Penev wants to control from the top but Sauce keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sauce is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Penev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sauce can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sauce takes a little break here. Penev wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Sauce has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Sauce bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Penev's head.

Penev tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sauce swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's time! Penev's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sauce scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Sauce got a little sloppy there for a moment and Penev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sauce has managed to get both his arms back between Penev's legs - danger averted.

Sauce has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Penev's body.
Penev breaks Sauce's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Alfredo Sauce showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sauce has Penev pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sauce pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Penev tumbling to the mat - Sauce dives into Penev's guard.

Penev has his foot on Sauce's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sauce works his way back into a safe position though.
