Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
aoki blocks a head kick by Grugger.
Grugger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. aoki tries to avoid it but Grugger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag aoki to the ground. aoki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Grugger scores a takedown into full mount!
aoki swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

aoki makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Grugger bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Grugger wants to stand but aoki is controlling his arm.

aoki tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Grugger wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grugger decides to return to a standing position.
Grugger looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

aoki fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Grugger sprawls well initially but aoki persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

aoki is trying to control the action in half guard but Grugger is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Grugger is trying to stand up here but aoki is controlling him well.
aoki winds up and cracks Grugger with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

aoki has hold of Grugger's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Grugger manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

aoki is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Grugger can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
aoki won't let Grugger get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
