Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Hajime (ranked 3607 p4p, 324 weight class) and Steve Cho (ranked 3563 p4p, 322 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ippo Hajime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Cho!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hajime tries to land a body kick
and Cho counters with a series of strikes. Hajime will be more careful next time no doubt.
Nice shot lands for Cho.
Hajime tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cho counters with a nice uppercut.
Cho thuds a left hand into Hajime's body.
Cho cracks Hajime with an open hand slap.
Cho circles away from the clinch attempt
and Cho counters with a left and a right that stings Hajime.
Hajime throws a head kick that misses.
Cho looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cho looks to land a combination but Hajime avoids it well.

Hajime tries to clinch there but Cho circles away.
Cho is looking for the big counter here.

Ippo Hajime seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hajime shoots in for a takedown but Cho shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Cho connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Cho circles away from the clinch attempt
and Cho counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sloppy strikes from Cho. Those never looked like landing.
Hajime seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Hajime takes one to the chin there.
Hajime lands a nice looking body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Cho cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Cho counters with a two punch combo.
Cho is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hajime had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Cho clobbers Hajime with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hajime takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Steve Cho is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab lands there for Cho.
Hajime shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cho counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hajime is breathing heavily.
Hajime misses with a body punch
and Cho counters with a stiff right hand.
Cho might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Hajime takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cho shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hajime eats them both and turns towards Cho to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Cho counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hajime thinking.

Cho lands a jab to the head.
Cho connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Cho cracks Hajime with a good jab.
Hajime tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cho sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hajime somewhat.
Cho fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cho goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cho looks to land a combination. Hajime sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Cho is working the combinations to good effect here.
Cho cracks Hajime with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hajime looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Hajime fails with the takedown
and Cho counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cho lands with a shot to the body.
Hajime has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Cho keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cho lands a glancing blow to the side of Hajime's head.

and Hajime takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Cho lands a jab-cross combination.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cho cracks a nice hook into Hajime's ribs.

Hajime doesn't manage to clinch there - Cho circles away.
Hajime is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cho sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hajime throws a wild body kick that Cho sees coming a mile off.
Cho has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cho slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ippo Hajime is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hajime shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cho makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Steve Cho seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nice jab there from Cho.
Cho lands a two punch combo.


Hajime is rocked!
Hajime seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Cho shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Hajime is backing up but Cho catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Hajime covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Cho Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Cho!
