Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michele Amidon (ranked 4471 p4p, 122 weight class) and Diogo Paixao (ranked 2922 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michele Amidon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diogo Paixao!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paixao forces Amidon back against the cage and clinches.
Paixao fails to pull guard.
Paixao stalling the fight.
Amidon breaks from the clinch.
Paixao is looking to clinch but Amidon is avoiding it.
The fighters circling - Amidon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Amidon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paixao's guard.
Amidon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Amidon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amidon passes into half guard.
Amidon not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Paixao wants to sweep but Amidon has passed to side control!
Amidon working away.
Amidon decides to stand back up.
Amidon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Paixao quickly recovers to half guard.
Paixao is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Amidon pulls his head out easily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Amidon connects with a nice short shot to Paixao's temple.
Amidon seems to be looking for submissions.
Amidon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Paixao doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Amidon.
Amidon gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Paixao tries for a takedown but Amidon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Amidon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Amidon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Paixao tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Amidon is working for a rear naked choke. Paixao is not defending it well and Amidon has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Paixao refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Paixao's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Michele Amidon!
