Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sivile Gonya (ranked 1735 p4p, 217 weight class) and Bung Popper (ranked 1414 p4p, 186 weight class). Sivile Gonya could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bung Popper's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sivile Gonya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bung Popper!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonya takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Popper has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Gonya is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Popper throws a sloppy head kick
enabling Gonya to counter with a crisp jab.
Popper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gonya looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Popper connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gonya's hands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Popper. Gonya does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Gonya cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Gonya displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Popper throws out the jab.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Gonya looks to land a left hand but Popper moved out of range nicely.
Popper takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Popper tries to clinch but Gonya moves out of range.
Popper pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gonya blocks a head kick by Popper.

Oooooh!!! Popper has knocked Gonya down with a huge combo! Popper steps away and waves a wobbly Gonya back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Popper misses with a straight left.
Oh Gonya is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gonya scores with a takedown into Popper's guard.
Gonya seems to have got his legs back now.
Gonya is looking to advance position but Popper has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Gonya is desperately trying to improve his position but Popper has a good base and remains in mount.
Popper gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Popper darts in and clinches Gonya up against the cage.
Popper has had enough of the clinch but Gonya keeps him there for the moment.
Popper lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Popper breaks the clinch.
Popper misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gonya changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Popper misses with a wild combination.
Gonya looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Popper doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Popper connects with a single shot there.
Gonya circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gonya lands with a good body shot.
Popper closes the distance and clinches.
Popper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gonya loads up on a big right hand but Popper slips the punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gonya takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Popper does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Gonya appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bung Popper dominated that round.
That's time! Gonya's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gonya shoots for a double leg takedown but Popper sprawls well. He's pushed Gonya's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Popper flicks out a counter leg kick but Gonya steps away.
Popper has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Popper tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gonya paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gonya takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gonya misses the shot to the body.
Popper jabs Gonya right on the nose. Gonya blinks but takes it well.

Popper feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gonya sprawling to the canvas! Gonya rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Popper finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gonya rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Popper counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Popper engages and cracks Gonya with a massive lead left hook - Gonya tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Popper is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bung Popper!
