PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baby Boy (ranked 4327 p4p, 116 weight class) and Mantis Toboggan (ranked 6262 p4p, 185 weight class). Toboggan has chosen I Like Life at Paddy's Pub as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mantis Toboggan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy shoots in for a takedown but Toboggan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Boy is working for takedown but Toboggan is calmly controlling the position for now.
Boy tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Baby Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Toboggan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Toboggan scores with a takedown into Boy's guard.
Toboggan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Boy wants to stand but Toboggan is controlling the position.
Boy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Toboggan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Boy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Toboggan is aware though and is defending well.
Boy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Toboggan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boy is proving hard to escape from.
Boy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Toboggan is one step ahead there.

Toboggan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Boy to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Toboggan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Boy pulls down on the head and he's put Toboggan to sleep! This one is all over!
