The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slice has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Slice there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Slice counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Slice cracks Thompson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Slice lands a big uppercut and Thompson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Thompson looks OK. Slice waves Thompson back to his feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Slice fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Thompson to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Thompson looks to clinch but Slice throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Thompson taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Kimbo Slice is the new heavyweight champion!
Kimbo Slice decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
