PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Salvador (ranked 25 p4p, 4 weight class) and Latrobe Arundel (ranked 2 p4p, 1 weight class). Arundel is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Shook Ones. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, George Salvador!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Latrobe Arundel!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arundel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Arundel displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Salvador throws out the jab.
Arundel has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A big left from Arundel misses.
Salvador seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
A decent looking cross lands there for Arundel.
Arundel looks for the body kick but Salvador saw that one coming.
Arundel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As Arundel tries to get set, Salvador tries to push him back and clinch up but Arundel manages to avoid the attempt.
Arundel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Salvador.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Salvador does no damage.
Arundel replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Salvador blocks it well.
Arundel lands with a cross.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arundel misses with a hook. Salvador ducked under it nicely.

Salvador appears to be looking for a big counter.

Salvador pushes Arundel up against the cage in a clinch.
Arundel on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Arundel misses with some punches.

Arundel lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Arundel manages to break the clinch.
Arundel looks to score with a jab to the body but Salvador is just out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Salvador checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
It appears Salvador was looking to counter with a kick there.
Latrobe Arundel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arundel avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Arundel steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Arundel works the jab nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Arundel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice straight punches there by Arundel. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Arundel.
Salvador lands a nice hook to Arundel's body. Arundel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Arundel lands a lovely overhand right.

Salvador scores with a body shot.
Arundel scores with the left hand. Salvador knows he should have avoided that one.
Arundel walks into a stiff left hand from Salvador.
Arundel throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Salvador counter with a right hand.
Arundel throws a head kick but Salvador moves out of range.
Salvador tries to close the distance and clinch but Arundel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Arundel on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Salvador looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Salvador feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Arundels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Arundel connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Arundel tries a head kick but it misses.
Salvador swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Salvador misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Salvador doesn't manage to clinch there - Arundel circles away.
Arundel swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Oooooh!!! Arundel has knocked Salvador down with a huge combo! Arundel steps away and waves a wobbly Salvador back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Salvador is rocked!
Arundel lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Salvador - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Arundel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Latrobe Arundel!
Latrobe Arundel is the new middleweight champion!
Latrobe Arundel seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
